This page covers Jentii's website and the free note checker. Offices that use Jentii inside their EHR have a separate agreement that covers their data.
What happens to a note you check
- It is read on your computer first. When you paste a note or open a PDF, the page reads it in your browser. The PDF file is never uploaded.
- Names, dates and IDs come out before anything is sent. The page replaces the patient's name, dates, record and member numbers, phone numbers, addresses and similar details with placeholders like [NAME] and [DATE]. Only that copy is sent, over an encrypted connection.
- Our server checks again. Before the coder reads the note, our server runs a second, stricter pass and removes anything the first one missed.
- The coder reads the de-identified copy. The codes are chosen by a language model from TypeSafe. Our TypeSafe account has zero data retention, so TypeSafe does not keep what it is sent.
- Only the de-identified copy is kept. We keep the copy the coder read, after both passes took names, dates and IDs out, with the codes Jentii gave, any codes you typed in to compare, and the visit details cut down to age (90 and over kept as 90), sex, new or established patient, insurance type and code-set year. It is encrypted on our server. We use it only to test and improve Jentii: when we change how Jentii codes, we run the kept notes again to check the change. We do not sell or share it.
- What you pasted is not kept, and neither is the PDF or the date of service. Our logs never hold the note. The sample notes on the checker are not kept.
Automatic de-identification is very good but not perfect, so don't paste anything you are not allowed to share for coding review.
What we keep
- De-identified notes and their codes, as described above. A kept note is not linked to you, your IP address or your browser, so we cannot find one person's note to delete it.
- What you send us on purpose: suggestions, and contact requests with your name, work e-mail and practice. We use them to reply to you and to decide what to build. We do not sell them.
- Basic request logs: the page or API address, the response code and how long it took. Never the note, the codes or form contents.
- Your IP address, briefly and in memory only, to limit how many checks one visitor can run. It is not written down.
Other services the site uses
- Fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them.
- Google Analytics runs on our marketing pages (home, contact and these policy pages) to count visits and see where visitors come from. It sets first-party analytics cookies. It is not on the checker page, so it never sees a note or the codes. Google signals and ad personalization are off.
- If we turn on a bot check, it is Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at your browser to tell people from bots.
- The site runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
We do not use advertising cookies, and the checker page sets no cookies at all.
